Course Description

ACCT 810 Forensic Accounting Analytics teaches students an appropriate framework for forensic accounting investigations and systematic audit data analytics tests for fraud detection controls. In this course, students gain practical experience in utilizing forensic analytics to conduct detection tests on the “fingerprints” that a specific fraud would leave in the data under review and how to look for those fingerprints. Students also learn the optimal combination of effective and efficient fraud preventive controls, detective controls, corrective controls, and regular fraud risk assessments. (Formerly ACCT 810 : Digital Forensics Accounting)

  • Learn the appropriate framework for forensic accounting investigations.
  • Learn and apply systematic audit data analytics tests for fraud detection controls.
  • Develop skills in conducting detection tests on “fingerprints” of a specific fraud and how to search for those fingerprints.
