Course Description

BUS 810 Managing Organizational Behavior delves into theories and perspectives surrounding organizational design, function, and individual and group behavior within organizations. Through this course, students explore topics such as emotional intelligence, employee engagement, intergenerational differences, diversity, e-business, virtual team management, and effective leadership. Additionally, students analyze organizational processes, including motivation strategies and team building, to cultivate high-performance teams. (Formerly BUS 810 Managerial Psychology and BUS 906 Organizational Processes)

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand the theories and perspectives of managing organizational behavior and apply these theories and perspectives to case studies.
  • Critically analyze organizational processes and methods of designing organizations to ensure greater flexibility and responsiveness, change management, and employee motivation, among others.
  • Learn and discuss the determinants of ethical behavior in organizations.
  • Critically analyze the management of personality, perception, and attitudes in the workplace.
