Course Description

CSA 845 Legal Issues in Cyber Security examines the cybersecurity laws and legal issues most likely to affect corporate and government operations. Through this course, students learn the legal rules that require and sometimes restrict specific cybersecurity measures that inform cybersecurity strategy. Students learn about issues in compliance and the latter’s impacts on financial harm, negative publicity, and, in some cases, criminal charges.

  • Critically analyze the cybersecurity laws and legal issues that affect corporate and government operations.
  • Learn and discuss rules that may restrict cybersecurity measures and ensuing legal challenges.
  • Critically analyze cybersecurity legal issues from a global perspective.
