Course Description

DHS 780 Public Health Research, Ethics, and Integrity examines crucial ethics topics in public health research and clinical trials using case study materials to emphasize integrity in conducting research. In this course, students critically analyze conceptual frameworks of moral reasoning applied to public health studies, publication, and interpretation of findings. Other topics covered in this course are ethical issues in studies of vulnerable populations, cross-cultural research, international public health research, and the responsible conduct of science.

  • Critically analyze crucial ethics topics in public health research to find solutions toward ensuring research integrity.
  • Develop proficiency in ensuring ethical public health studies, publication, and interpretation of findings.
