Course Description

DHS 830 Managerial Epidemiology explores the application of principles and tools of epidemiology to the decision-making process in healthcare management. In this course, students learn how to integrate the technical skills of the bioinformatics professional, the investigatory abilities of the epidemiologist, the mathematical skills of the statistician, the GIS skills of the cartographer, the clinical skills of the physician, the management skills of the healthcare administrator, the engagement skills of the behavioral scientist, and the financial acumen of the financial manager.

  • Understand the applications of epidemiologic tools and principles to the decision-making process in healthcare management.
  • Learn and apply evidence-based theories to resolve management problems.
