Course Description

DPSY 800 Personality Assessment explores the procedures and tools used in assessing personality to understand better the nature of people and their disposition to behave in specific ways. Through this course, students learn methods and instruments to obtain information about personality to reach relevant psychological conclusions and make useful recommendations in a broad range of clinical, forensic, health care, educational, and organizational applications. This course tackles various modes of personality assessment, primarily through historical records and reports, observation of behavior, and administration of a battery of standardized personality assessment instruments. Other topics covered in this course are administering, scoring, and interpreting major multidimensional personality assessment instruments for adults and children.

  • Understand the procedures and instruments used in assessing personality to understand better the nature of people and their disposition to behave in certain ways.
