DPSY 945 Child and Adolescent Behavioral Assessment examines evidence-based behavioral assessment and diagnosis based on science and theory to inform the treatment process for children and adolescents. Through this course, students learn the historical, theoretical, and conceptual factors underpinning behavioral assessment approaches to know when and how to apply various diagnostic and behavioral assessment instruments throughout treatment. Students also learn assessment principles that guide the selection, use, and interpretation of assessment methods and the issues related to diagnostic and behavioral assessment tools for children and adolescents. Emphasis is on applying the principles of diagnostic and behavioral assessment to generate case conceptualization that guides the treatment process.
