Course Description

ECON 547 Mathematical Economics focuses on the mathematical tools economists utilize to excel at all levels of their discipline. This course explores these mathematical tools in conjunction with economic theory. Topics covered in this course allow students to gain a firm grounding in mathematical economics, including sequences, series, application in finance, functions, differentiations, differential and difference equations, optimizations, and integrations, among others.

  • Learn to represent economic relationships in a mathematical form formally.
  • Critically analyze economic problems using economics models, algebra, and calculus.
