Course Description

Ed.D 836 Financing and Access to Higher Education explores the theories and mechanisms of the financing and financing issues of higher education (HE) globally. In this course, students will investigate underlying reasons for financial issues in HE, including increasing college costs, the strategies HE authorities harness to subsidize costs, and how students and HE institutions respond to the problems. Students learn to apply different conceptual lenses to better understand the causes and impacts of these issues. In this course, students also examine how financing issues affect HE access, opportunity, equity, and professional practice.
