Course Description

HCA 679 Decision Making in Health Care is an advanced course focusing on the theory and practice of clinical judgment and decision-making in health care. In this course, students learn to reflect on and enhance clinical competencies by analyzing theory and research which they can understand and relate to and to critically analyze extensive examples of how to integrate the theory and practice of clinical judgment and decision-making via practitioners’ review of real clinical scenarios.

  • Critically analyze theories applied to clinical judgment and decision-making in health care.
  • Learn ethical and evidence-based decision-making to inform professional patient-centered care.
  • Critically analyze decision-making issues in recent research to address the issues.
