LL.M 521 Business Law is a course through which students learn the fundamental legal concerns that may arise when making business decisions and how these legal concerns are addressed. Topics covered in this course are the potential liabilities of businesses and third parties, the rights of these parties, and the legal ways through which business should be organized. As a post-graduate course, LL.M 521 Business Law focuses on the context of international businesses, including transnational and multinational corporations. Although domestic law may apply to such businesses, international legal principles are equally important. Therefore, this course orients students to the background of international business law and legal frameworks of international business regulations. Students also learn about specific areas relevant to international business, including contracts, competition law, foreign investment law, insolvency, and international business dispute resolution.
