Course Description

This course explores financial management practices within the dynamic global business world. This course adopts the viewpoint of the financial manager of a multinational enterprise with operations in more than one country, meaning an enterprise that could be a multinational corporation (MNC), a large financial institution, or a small partnership or proprietorship. Students learn a framework for assessing multinational operations’ various financial opportunities, costs, and risks beyond the basic algebra and terminology to general principles. (Formerly MBA 580 International Financial Management)

Understand the international financial environment, corporate management, and performance in the global business world.
Learn currency derivatives and their importance in financial risk management, the multinational treasury and the MNC’s management of transaction, operating, and translation exposures to currency risk.
Learn the valuation and structuring of the corporation’s international assets.
Understand international capital markets, portfolio diversification, and asset pricing.
