Course Description

This course explores financial management practices within the dynamic global business world. This course adopts the viewpoint of the financial manager of a multinational enterprise with operations in more than one country, meaning an enterprise that could be a multinational corporation (MNC), a large financial institution, or a small partnership or proprietorship. Students learn a framework for assessing multinational operations’ various financial opportunities, costs, and risks beyond the basic algebra and terminology to general principles. Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand the international financial environment, corporate management, and performance in the global business world.
  • Learn currency derivatives and their importance in financial risk management, the multinational treasury and the MNC’s management of transaction, operating, and translation exposures to currency risk.
  • Learn the valuation and structuring of the corporation’s international assets.
  • Understand international capital markets, portfolio diversification, and asset pricing.
