Course Description

This course examines salient international laws that govern corporate and business operations. Students also learn the corporate and business roles within the international legal order and international lawmaking, particularly how corporate methods, motivations, and regulatory demands augment or challenge the underlying foundations of international law. Attention is given to the harmonization between different national legal systems to facilitate cross-border exchange to further international law’s claim to universality (Formerly MBA 673 International Business Law)

  • Understand the historical perspective on corporate participation within the international legal order.
  • Learn and discuss corporate contributions to treaty formation and implementation.
  • Critically analyze international laws governing disputes involving corporations and businesses.
