This course provides knowledge of diverse peoples, governments, histories, and natural systems worldwide, emphasizing the respect of human rights in each context. Students develop an understanding of how their behavior affects and is affected by larger global patterns.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand how human rights are asserted and protected in a diverse global society.
  • Critically analyze human rights dilemmas arising from diverse political, economic,
    and cultural landscapes.
  • Critically analyze the international laws and policies seeking to ensure human
    rights at the global level.
  • Learn and discuss inalienable human rights and the obligations of global actors to
    uphold such rights.
