Course Description

This course provides a comprehensive understanding of the properties, impacts, and therapeutic values of primary agents in major drug categories. Topics include nutritional products, hormones, diuretics, blood modifiers, cardiovascular agents, respiratory, and gastrointestinal agents.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Demonstrate competence in fundamental pharmacology, covering drug terminology, dosage forms, administration routes, drug effects, and bodily responses.
  • Categorize major drugs accurately, identifying indications, contra-indications, side effects, as well as commercial and generic names.
  • Discuss the basic pharmacology of gastrointestinal, respiratory, cardiac, and vascular agents.
  • Discuss the pharmacology of diuretics, endocrinology, and hormone therapy.
