PhDTh 817 Jewish Theology examines how biblical theology and the Jews approximate each other, emphasizing a Jewish biblical theology. In this course, students learn about Jewish Bible theology as a subdiscipline of biblical studies, independent from Christian theology, and explore the Bible/Old Testament and its various themes from a Jewish theological perspective(s).

Learn and discuss Jewish biblical theology as a subdiscipline of biblical studies, independent from Christian theology.
Explore the Bible/Old Testament and its various themes from a Jewish theological perspective(s).
Critically analyze methodological and historical issues in Jewish biblical theology, including in relation to the Torah, Prophets, and Writings (Tanak).
Understand fresh and current thoughts on important issues in Jewish religious and intellectual world views.
