This program welcomes lawyers from diverse jurisdictions, providing a flexible platform for those who’ve completed their prior legal Bachelor’s degree studies.

Focused on shaping the future of the legal profession, LL.M candidates delve into three specialized tracks: Estate Planning and Management, Conflict Resolution, or Homeland Security. This transformative journey includes key courses like LL.M 559 Legal Research and Writing, and GRES 690 Master’s Thesis.

The LL.M program emphasizes fundamental legal concepts, critical thinking, national and international legal research, and communication skills, empowering candidates to navigate various legal settings ethically. Graduates emerge as proficient legal analysts, problem solvers, and effective communicators, ready for impactful contributions to the legal profession.

Program Structure

Explore the detailed program structure, including core subjects and a diverse range of electives.

Candidates are required to choose from one of three specialized program tracks: Estate Planning and Management, Homeland Security, or Conflict Resolution. Total Credits required for LL.M in any specialty is 24.

This program has the following course requirements:

Students must complete all the required foundation courses. For this program, the Master’s Thesis (GRES 690) is valued at 6 credits and must be taken at the last semester of the program.

Selecting the Estate Planning and Management specialty focuses your studies on aspects of estate law, financial planning, and asset management. Please note that choosing this specialty means you will not engage in the Homeland Security or Conflict Resolution specialties.

Opting for the Homeland Security specialty immerses you in the intricacies of national security, emergency preparedness, and crisis management. Be aware that by selecting this specialty, you will not participate in the Estate Planning and Management or Conflict Resolution specialties.

Choosing the Conflict Resolution specialty directs your learning towards dispute resolution, negotiation tactics, and peacebuilding strategies. Keep in mind that this selection excludes the possibility of pursuing the Estate Planning and Management or Homeland Security specialties.
